  • Love the app, but...

    By Loubadoo FL
The app is great and I really think it is helping me learn Spanish, but recently more and more ads and pop ups are showing up which is making the experience of using the app a bit annoying. I understand that ads are a source of revenue and can’t fault you for using them, but having Duo the owl pop up and telling me that I’m doing a “great job” is unnecessary and annoying.
  • Discourage Learing

    By ManilaMark
This app works OK, but it discourages learning by constantly punishing you for mistakes. This seems to be a trap to make you buy more points from their store. If you don’t want to purchase more points, you have to get more energy by repeating mindless exercises. Really a waste of time!
  • Dear duolingo,

I started using the mobile browser version on my phone instead of the app. It is just as convenient but you don’t have to mess with health extorting you for money when you accidentally hit the wrong button on the last step of a lesson. I get what you are trying to do with health but it’s a failed attempt. Ditch it. Please make some of the pc options available to iOS and other mobile devices. I find access to the question threads key to learning and understanding; without them, we have no discussion which hinders learning greatly. Using the mobile version in safari on iOS allows this. Also, the non-app version has a mini lesson with charts and pointers at the home screen of each lesson group; I use those to check why I made a mistake with conjunction and pronouns. Duolingo is already the most powerful learning tool available; but these two things would make this app even more useful. Please add these options so I can quit using my laptop and mobile browser versions as my primary study tools.

  • Good to start, then frustrating

    By Cawaga
I am learning to speak French. This was good to begin tutoring myself, but then it begins to rely too heavily on the same phrases without actually teaching anything new. (Tendency to overrate how many apples I will be eating.) Stuck and out of health points, but can't get through the phrase testing? Too bad!
  • health “feature” is not a healthy way to learn

    By Nkmunn
the health feature especially / even on the paid version is really irritating - i hate that i am paying for an app that locks me out sometimes after only a few minutes of use - being “punished” with lockout for not knowing how to use a new form of a word that’s just been introduced to the learner is ridiculous and counter productive plus it makes me feel like the designers are just trying to load balance on the back of paid users .
  • Fantastic But Can Be Improved.....

    By Midnight2727
It's A Fantastic Language Learning App, My Favorite Even, But It Doesn't Teach The Writing Style Of Japanese/Chinese Or Any Other Languages Like That. If You Have An Apple Device Then The Bots Are A Lot Of Help Putting What You Used In Real Life Situations.
