Dark Sky can tell you at a glance exactly when it will rain (or snow) up to an hour in advance, so you’re free to walk the dog or run out to lunch and know you’ll stay dry. You can also explore the most beautiful weather animation you’ve ever seen, both forward in time or back. (Dark Sky is available in the US, UK and Ireland.) YOUR WEATHER, DOWN TO THE MINUTE Using GPS, Dark Sky is able to create forecasts for your precise location, giving you minute-by-minute predictions for the next hour and hour-by-hour forecasts for the next day and week. BEAUTIFUL WEATHER ANIMATIONS The same technology that powers Dark Sky’s predictions also allows us to make the world’s first perfectly smooth radar animation. Other apps show you a chunky slideshow that makes it nearly impossible to tell how storms are moving. But Dark Sky’s radar animation lets you see the actual path of the storm: how it moved in the past, and where it’s going in the future. PUSH NOTIFICATIONS Dark Sky comes with advanced notification options: Receive down-to-the-minute alerts before it starts raining at your exact location, get notified of government severe weather alerts (for such things as thunderstorms, flooding, hurricanes, etc), or even create your own custom notifications covering the next 24 hours for things like temperature, wind, precipitation and more. Even if you haven't opened the app in days, Dark Sky will tell you what you need to know, when you need to know it. TODAY WIDGET The Dark Sky Notification Center Widget tells you at a glance what's going to happen in the next hour and the next week, so you don't even have to unlock your phone to quickly check the weather before heading out. APPLE WATCH Dark Sky looks great on your wrist. Get notifications and check out the weather for the next week with the Dark Sky app built from scratch for Apple Watch.

  • Most accurate forecasts I have found

Seems better than the currently short staffed NOAA.

Doesn't work plan & simple. Never gets the rain or precipitation correct. I've even reported it about 10 times & it still doesn't get it right. App says no rain in area when it's raining, so I report rain & the app still doesn't change! Would like a refund, your app is broken.
  • Ok weather awful watch app

The local weather is ok — not as accurate as the dreaded AccuWeather, which sells your data; but, the complication hardly will load — there’s no seeing the temp on your watch face; and it never updates well. It’s a terrible watch app (Apple Watch 3 GPS/cell running 4.2.3)
  • Wonderful on iPhone, broken on Apple Watch

Top marks for this app on my phone but it’s always broken on my Apple Watch. And I mean always and in it is ALWAYS broken. No matter the number of “updates” to the app Dark Sky never really fixes the issues that are constantly popping up with their app on the watch. Take right now for instance, an “update” was released to fix a precipitation notice but oh gee what a surprise my watch complication still says it’s going to rain soon. It’s been stuck saying that for days now and opening the app on my watch or my phone will not fix the issue. I’ve deleted and redone loaded the app for both my phone and watch but to no avail. I’ve restarted my phone and watch a few times each but that too hasn’t fixed the problem. I don’t understand why the software folks with Dark Sky cannot ever get the Watch complication to work on a consistent basis or why their QA guys keep signing off on a broken watch complication. Do yourselves a favor and stick with Apple’s native weather app cause guess what, it actually works like it’s supposed to.
  • Optimized for mobile humans!

Best designed weather app I've seen, and that's on top of the local rain data (I don't need to know if its raining in my city, I need to know when and if it's going to fall on me!). Data is visualized in a way that is optimal for quick understanding (eg color coded day bar column, weekly temp ranges, high data to ink ratio) and use on a mobile device. Well worth the small scratch over just viewing their web page.
  • Very Simplistic!

There’s not much here, just simple appearance (which is kind of nice), simple temperatures, simple poor quality appearance radar, and simple weather forecasting. If you want good radar, look elsewhere. No precipitation amount—what’s up with this, doesn’t everyone want to know how much rain we’ve gotten? Very disappointing App for me—needed something with more weather features.

It’s fantastic and very accurate. Love that if I’m out walking that it’s about to start raining in the next 10 minutes. 👍👍👍👍👍
  • Fan from NJ!

I love that this app is always updating the weather so I know what’s coming. In January 2016 we had a snow storm that gave us 30 inches. Leading up to the storm the local news station was saying we were getting 6-8 inches where this app was saying 19 inches. It continued updating as we got closer to the storm. I recommend this app to everybody as someone recommended it to me...Love It😊!!!!
  • I want to love this but...

I run a painting crew and 90% of our work is outdoors. Here in florida I don't have to worry about snow but a rain cloud can appear out of nowhere even on the nicest of days. And we all know what rain can do to wet paint. This app has been very accurate so far. I love that notifications appear on my Apple Watch because I sometimes miss the notification on my phone.
