Can you guys enlarge the database of your address search to not only be confined to inputting a zip code. It’s easier to search up a state/city by its name than it is to go by zip code. The reason being is that it’s a problem with a matter of convenience when trying to search up a place since I have to leave the app to see what is the zip code of a certain place... like Denver, Colorado. Idk the f-ing zip code, but I know the state’s name. But so far so good, I’ll rate it 3 stars for usage, but I’ll wait for an update because craigslist formula is something that is more convenient for me per say, but your app is more fluid. That’s the only thing keeping them in business. Their convenience. Please... take the crown from them.
  • Needs “Date” filter

Pretty good app overall, but MANY MANY items searched for are over a year old. I understand people don’t pull their ad when something sells, but it would be nice to no have to wade through 75% “year old” ads.

Hey fellow Offerup users! Telling you guys my great experience! I’ve been using OfferUp since last year about the same time of this month, I gotta say I love it! I’ve done over 68+ deals and have a 48 5star rating on my page. I can say I’ve been successful with having multiple deals throughout last year. Yes some months were slow, some fast with sales, but it’s all about patience. I’ve bought personal items from local buyers to help support me and my family. Again a great place to buy and sell things. My only concern for the website are the people. Now I’m not judging anyone here, but it’s always random. You never know who you’ll get. Remember guys to always take precaution when doing deals. I haven’t had any deals go haywire yet, but always be aware of what your doing or getting yourself into. Always meet in a public area with either cameras, people, or inside somewhere around either options. Or meet at a local police station if your not sure or don’t feel completely safe. Sometimes the person your buying/selling to doesn’t have a profile picture or any confirmation info, or their just starting that month out of random (like a new post 5 mins ago). Their are skeptical and sketchy items on there. Like if someone ask to only reply by leaving an email, DONT do it. It’s a scam. Or if it’s something that has endless repeats of the post, don’t buy it. Or if someone try’s to send a check for one of your items and says someone else will pick it up. It’s a scam. Or say something you know that an item that is in stores for an expensive price and is being sold on OfferUp for a dirt cheap price, and it’s too good to be true, don’t buy it. I’d appreciate the OfferUp officials would get rid of the easy scams (can’t read messages on here!, only text to email!, send email to get more pics or info!) and really ban those accounts with fake deals just to get it out of the way. But other than that OfferUp has been a good place for me and is a great way to make easy money! I’d suggest most people should try it out for themselves!

Overall I love the app. I have sold and bought many things without a problem. My issue with the app is all the scammers posting false advertisement requesting they receive e-mails for the items being sold. My parents have been scammed in the past not using offer up but these post are very similar to the ads my parents responded to. I wish the developer or developers could screen a little better. Especially in the car area that’s where you usually get the red flag. Who sells a brand new vehicle under 30K miles for only $2,000 that should be the first red flag. Then the request of contact through email. If phone numbers are automatically erased should emails also be erased automatically? That way there is some type of monitoring of these scammers?
