    Have used Fitness Pal for years. It only does Macros. Was very excited to find this Ap. Hope they work out the kinks. Pros 1. Thorough and reliable nutrients. 2. Readable display. Cons 1. Camera turns Ap off when I hit icon. 2. Support did not answer email. 3. Not intuitive. Can’t figure out how to add items. Won’t change dates. Can’t change daily calorie requirement. 4. Limited food data base.

  • Great app, only tiny improvements needed

    Great app. Everything you wish your home spreadsheet did with pretty colors and 10,000x less effort. Makes it easy to track food quantities. Some people have complained that it doesn’t show summary totals in grams, just percentages—but you can just go to the apple health app to see that over time, which is really great. I wouldn’t change the interface on this app. Wish the health app could also display the DV you set in this app for comparison on those charts. A couple of extra nutrients like omega 3s, maybe biotin, would be great. Splitting hairs but I’d love to see folate breakdown for fortified folic acid foods and natural food folate. Also, I don’t see a way to retroactively add a journal entry. You can move entries from the current day to a previous day that you did at least one entry for, but if you didn’t do any entries yesterday there’s no way to do it retroactively. That would be a helpful feature for those days that get away from the meantime, I guess I just have to stay on top of things!

    I love this app. I need a general over view of the nutrients I intake. I eat mostly whole foods. This app takes time to get used to and a discerning eye for what you’re actually inputing. I’ve found everything to be functional and fairly accurate. Recipes work really well and cut down on inputing data. Especially the daily intake calculator. Often times I use the app as a database to plan meals. I use a scale at home to measure my food and it makes using this app much easier. Thats actually true of any tracker though. Wish list *Linolenic acids like Omega-3 (ALA) and Omega-6 (GLA) under amino acids. *A tutorial or help file that explains how to navigate and use the app

    I know Coca Cola isn’t the healthiest thing in the world but I’m surprised it’s not in the app. Neither were my Cheerios. Layout is cumbersome and no intro for personal input or instructions. I’m deleting the app today...
  • Needs improvement

    Knowing your vitamin intake is really great, but not if the app doesn’t have half of the things in your diet listed. Raw ingredients are usually there, but something as simple as an item from Chipotle is not. Super disappointing, wouldn’t recommend the app unless they make more frequent additions to their database

    I’m not confident that this a very accurate tracker. It has a wide range of values for example for peeled potatoes. Seems that should be pretty straightforward per gram... It is also quite glitchy. When adding ingredients to a recipe sometimes you have to put in the same ingredient twice to get the right total amount. But often it will just keep changing the original value. For example, I needed 250 gram potatoes but the max I could select was 200. When I tried to add it again with 50, it deleted the 200 Gram entry. I did figure out that to change the calories on the profile, you have to adjust total grams of protein, fat and carbs. That makes sense. It has potential but at this stage is more of a rough guide than an accurate count to depend on.

  • I just wasted $5

    I wanted a food journal that logged nutrients as well as calories, that's all I wanted. This all appeared to be what I wanted. Just trying to enter my breakfast turned into frustration: Corn flakes with almond milk. The bar code for my cereal wasn't in their system, ok, I'll manually ... oh, I can't manually add anything. I had to use a substitution to something that was sort of close (maybe?) to what I had. Fine, I'm not doing lab work, I don't need insane accuracy. Now I try to enter my almond milk. Again, the barcode isn't in the system (Blue Diamond Almond Breeze ... that's a pretty standard brand in the US. Maybe this app doesn't use US brands, I'll live) When I tried to find a second substitute for my incredibly simple breakfast, I discovered that the search function is too broad - I was trying to find unsweetened, *not* shelf stable almond milk. I had to scroll through candies, chocolates, non dairy ice cream, snacks ... only to discover it wasn't listed anyway. I'm throughly unimpressed that I bought this, I should have read more reviews.
  • Lacks editing ability; cannot build a “food”

    Starting with the good: tho sis pretty dang comprehensive! It’ll tell you all about things like apples, oranges, eggs, beef, which is outstanding! I was super excited when I saw things like Aminos and Vitamins all broken down. This is clearly not just a macro counting app. Now the bad: I’m a bodybuilder, meaning I take LOTS of supplements. For instance, I am currently taking Carnivore, a bioengineered beef protein from MuscleMeds. The nutritional values differ greatly from the “Beverage, Shake, High Protein, Powder” found in the app, but I can’t add or edit the “food” item. Also, it would be SUPER helpful, since this a “nutrients” counter, and does possess both Macro and Micros, a great idea would be allow users to add individual ingredients and nutrients. For instance, I take pre workout daily, which includes things like Beta Alanine and Citruline Malate. Why can I not add this? Even if they don’t affect the actual diet, and not everyone needs these things (one-time paid addition? I’d pay $10 for this app plus that...), having a place to count my macros AND manage things like caffeine consumption and vitamin deficiencies can ONLY bring this app thru the roof! Final thoughts: The app is useful, yes. But the inability to change, manually input, and customize leaves it wanting. However, the company has had LOTS of responses to comments, which leads me to believe they’ll read this. My advice? Make a paid addition called “Bodybuilding Package” that includes supplements, explanations, interactions, the ability to edit, etc... now THAT would be a 5-Star app! I can readily tell you I’d pay at least $10 for that ability! For some reason, since this app is all USDA info, I feel like I’m going to get shot down on this one...
