Uber is available in more than 500 cities worldwide—download the app and take your first trip today. Requesting your Uber is easy—here’s how it works: - Just open the app and tell us where you’re going. - The app uses your location so your driver knows where to pick you up. - You’ll see your driver’s picture, vehicle details, and can track their arrival on the map. - Payment can be made by credit card, cash in select cities, Apple Pay, PayPal, and more. - After the ride, you can rate your driver and provide feedback to help us improve the Uber experience. You’ll also get a receipt by email. Need a simple way to get from A to B quickly? Take uberX, our most affordable individual option. Want to save money on your ride? Take uberPOOL—you’ll travel with other riders headed your way and enjoy a lower fare. Want to elevate your experience? Take a high-end vehicle with UberBLACK. And there’s still more options—whether you’re traveling with a big group, or need a vehicle with accessibility features. I’m going to list the pros and cons as this app has cracked doors for me. So here they are; You meet great people who will offer you other jobs if it have another career. You sometimes get great tips and can make $30 in one hour. You have fun trips sometimes when you have a nice destination like to San Francisco or Yosemite. It’s fun sometimes. The cons; You meet a lot of arsholes, drunks, people with no class, racists, people who will think they are better and superior than you, creeps, prostitutes, homeless, and pick up people in really shady parts of town. Other careless drivers almost hit you on the road. Bad roads take a toll on your car. It is tiring some nights. People eat in your car and spill stuff in it, want to throw up in it. Dent your car, scratch it. Sometimes you make $3 a ride, $1 of those dollars has to be spent on gas so you net $2 total. You can make $30 a day or $150 a day. Weekends are the best, it’s not even worth it driving in the day as small towns are flooded with Ubers. Only do rides with a surge and avoid picking up people who are 8 minutes away. Stick with 5 minutes or less to avoid wasting gas. You’ve been warned. This will save you months of headaches. Only do this until you find a real job. It gets you through hard times.
  • Beware

I selected a destination and the Uber app auto-populated the final airport destination. Uber then charges me almost $10 dollars more indicating I entered an incorrect address. The address they populated. Additionally the driver gave no indication the entered destination varied from the actual destination, or that there would be a different fare. Zero transparency. Zero accountability. Uber listed the destination as the “Main building”, they said I should have entered “Terminal B”. There’s a difference? Are they truly a $10 difference in distance? Never again, deleted and done.

  • Never been able to request a ride. Poor Cust. Service

    By sam1033
For the life of my Uber account I have never been able to request a ride. It seems there was an issue with my phone number being associated with 2 different emails. When I my first email didn’t work I tried signing up with a new account. So I deleted the account associated with me outlook email and waited 30 days. I again tried to request a ride and my account was disable for security reasons. I have 10+ email responses and messages from the help tab in the Uber app saying the same thing (sometimes exactly the same to the character) that my account was disabled for security reasons but should be fixed. I’ve been stranded at locations after closing hours without a ride because I was told my account was fixed but it wasn’t. Customer service has been as helpful as they can be with their copy and paste responses. They told me to try to change my payment method. Account disabled. I’ve tried logging out of the app and logging back in. Locked out of my account. And cannot even log back into the app to get the the help message i submitted so I have to submit a new request to get in contact with customer service. If I could call and talk to a real person to get some information on why this is happening maybe I could be a paying customer. I’ve tried sending nasty informational messages with my problem and I’ve tried sending monotoned informational messages. Nothing has allowed be to participate in this technology. I tried giving up on Uber and switching to Lyft but there are not many or no drivers in my town when I needed a ride. So this app get 1 star. 0 stars if I could because I’ve never been able to use it for its purpose. To request a ride.
