  • The new version is absolutely awful.

The new version is awful. It’s much more complicated, and you can’t just instantly view messages from anyone like you could before. You can only see messages from people who’s profiles you have previously liked. Not a fan at all. Reply to developer: It’s probably reduced abusive messages because so many less messages are being sent and there are now less users because of this. While they may still have an account, I doubt that as many people are actually using the site like they were before (and the newest reviews would suggest the same). Same in my situation. I haven’t really used it since this change took place.

I agree with many of the reviews here! I’ve been using OkCupid for years, and regarded it as the best dating site. It allowed you to get to know more about the people you were chatting with. I answered probably close to a thousand questions over the years. Last year things went downhill and it’s no different from Tinder now. It’s been impossible for me to be matched or even see more guys in my area. I guess this forces more people to join A-list. Very disappointed in the changes and eventually took a break from this app. Not sure if I’ll want to use OkCupid regularly in 2018.

Why would you take away they option to delete messages ? I shouldn’t have to block someone to get rid of their messages. Who are you to be able to control that ? Then when I block them I can still see their messages.
  • A once-great site/app, ruined as of 2018

I used to absolutely love OkCupid. I would have tons of memorable conversations and dates, and even ended up in a few relationships. Unfortunately, as of an update at the end of 2017, the entire service has been changed DRASTICALLY for the worse. It's now almost impossible to get people to actually see your messages. I went from having maybe a 50% response rate to a near-0% one. You can no longer impress people with interesting messages; instead, you now just totally blend into the crowd. You might get lucky and hit it off with someone now, but your odds are worse than Tinder; go use that instead. I used to greatly prefer OKC because you could find people who were similar to you. Now, you can still SEE those people, but the journey ends there. It's now almost impossible to actually have a conversation with them; my inbox is basically empty at this point. It's sad, but I guess all good things come to an end. OkCupid effectively came to an end in December 2017. Now, it's just a hollow shell of a site that used to be great at helping you connect with people.

So this app was great back 2 years ago now it’s just like tinder but the only difference is once you like someone you can message them. And you have to like someone back just to see what there message was. I would never recommend this app to anyone who’s looking to date, this just wastes your time and money, if you want to see who likes you, you have to guess who it was or you have to pay to buy it. I’ll be deleting this app in the beginning of March, this app was way better 2 years ago then what it is now, bad app very bad app

They share real statistics which is cool.. and ask you questions like “before you send this message, would you say this in real life?” Which hopefully stops the corny pick up lines 😆 you also get a lot of free capabilities, which is nice.
  • Used to be great. Now trying to be Tinder.

OK Cupid used to be great. The questions you could answer and the match percentages based on those questions made it different. And better. Now you cannot see messages from anyone you have not “liked”. And you cannot see who has liked you. If I want to spend time randomly swiping I will (and do) use Tinder. I used OK Cupid for meeting people who had REAL potential. When I can’t read my messages and decide for myself whether the match is worthwhile without putting in swiping time, it is time to move on from what was once a great relationship.

When you delete unwanted matches, they most likely will be there again when you reopen the app. If you are a straight man you will be matched with other straight men lol uh which is pretty crappy. Now messages you write will not be read until the person "likes" you which everyone, including the people you message complain about because those messages get buried. Super bogus.
