  • Too many commercials

How are you gonna charge 40/mo and have 7 commercial breaks that are 2 min each in each episode. May cancel before free trial expires
  • Commercials

Way to many commercials. The volume level of the commercials is 30% higher than the show you are watching. Watch America’s got talent. Be ready for it to take longer on YouTube tv than on traditional tv.
  • No sports - and now doesn’t work at all

UPDATE: I was out of town for a few days and when I came back, the app didn’t work with my Apple TV anymore. Maybe I need to go with something more stable and reliable. ORIGINAL: Why do half of the sports programs show up as “blocked in your area” or “not available for internet streaming”? That’s the only reason I signed up for this. Very disappointed.
  • Tech ok, but Unlimited DVR is a Lie

To be clear, the technology and app are OK, it’s the service that is deceptive. The unlimited DVR to me is a bait and switch! For most things you can skip through the ads only while it’s recording, but for anything worthwhile, immediately after or within 24 hours, your “recording’ is unavailable, and all you can get is a version where advertisements get re-inserted. That is not a DVR at all by my definition. Google tube says they have no control over the networks. Fair enough, but be honest about the offering, it’s very far from a DVR with unlimited storage. Google is becoming Just another telco that doesn’t seem to know what unlimited means!!! Im switching back to cable. Can’t wait to reconnect my TiVo, a legitimate DVR!
  • The app stops working if you adjust the quality

For whatever reason the default picture quality is 360p which is laughable. When you adjust the picture quality to 720p the app just spins and never plays. Also why max at 720p when I know the game I'm watching is being broadcast in 1080p 60 fps on MLB Network. Please fix this
  • Cancel the free trial!!! Not easy!

I have been trying to cancel the free trial for four days now and still can’t figure out how to do it this is ridiculous
  • Full of advertisements!!

Even if you have a membership you have to watch 5mins of advertisements for every 15mins-20mins of show or may be less. Literally ruins the watching experience.
  • Horrendously overpriced

I have to say that I was thoroughly disappointed. 1. This product is WAY too expensive for what it offers 2. There are very few channels..(no nickelodeon) 3. Technical errors with the app on any smart tv 4. The tv app could not be Less user friendly or comfortable 5. The dvr isn’t true or real dvr 6. You still get TV ads that you can’t skip 7. Now you ALSO get YouTube ads on top of regular ads. Really bad value overall.. sling is a much better and cheaper option starting at $20, I pay $5 extra for DVR on sling and $10 extra for the “laugh” package that has a butt load of extra good channels. That puts me at $35, still LESS than YouTube’s starting cost! And 200% the channels, much better interface and experience. Real dvr. Plus hbo movies and searching that is a lot better.. I love google but this app idea is as bad as Comcast and direct tv...
  • Live TV & Recorded Content Consistent Issues

    1

Serious issues on iPhone 11.4.1 (15G77) and on Apple TV 4K 11.4.1 (15M73) still have serious problems playing anything either on Live TV & Recorded. Freezing, video buffering, and low quality. Will not play in full 1080p HD, only plays at 480p or under on Live TV and recorded shows. Seems the last update or previous it started doing this. With the issues from the World Cup we need this fixed fast before big shows return next month or I’m switching to another service that can provide proper HD quality and no buffering.
  • On the way to being great

Great service, Good content, DVR is awesome. My downsides, however are mostly with app features, or the lack thereof. My main issues is that the app does not support the window in window feature that almost every other steaming app does. To go along with that the basic iPad status info across the top of the screen is unavailable while streaming, so if I want to know what time it is I have to close app. I’ve also had the app get stuck when casting, The casting screen is on the app and I can control the video but I can’t escape or minimize that screen to start a different video or browse. I end up having to close the app and disconnect the Cast session. Some other downsides of the service are that it wouldn’t let me cast to my 1st gen chromecast so I had to get a new one, and that some on demand channels, like ABC, have 8 commercial breaks in an hour long show with 6 commercials each. This is probably not up to YouTube but is also the biggest reason I cut the cord. I don’t mind some commercials but that is ridiculous. [Edit] I’ve noticed less commercials in the shows I watch now, there are usually 3 per half hour with 4 per break, much more acceptable.
