  • Great but I just have one concern.

I started using this app on July 8th of 2018. I think it’s very simple and just the journaling app I was looking for that includes a simple jotting down. My only concern is I have tried clicking on the “support us” button (to click on ads) whenever I could to try to support the creators in a way other than a money donation because I cannot because of my current situation, but for some reason it never works. Even with WiFi, the ads never show up. In place of it are just white strips of nothing labeled “sponsored”. If you could help me figure out this problem it would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long review, thanks for reading.

I was lucky and got this app for free when it was promoted in the Apple Store but I can see why the app costs the amount it does. It's worth experiencing due to its simplicity and straightforward used interface. I don't review apps unless I am thoroughly content with the product so trust me on this - it's an exceptional journaling app. I have had his app for 3 years and never deleted it once. It was that valuable to me.

  • Bring Back iCloud Sync

This used to be a great app. Not anymore. I do not trust their syncing service. And do not want to pay a monthly subscription fee to both iCloud (which I use for everything else) and this app. But the app designers will not listen. Clearly they are more concerned with profit, then serving their customers. I mean, if the developer wants to set up their own sync services, I suppose that’s fine for people that want it. But for the rest of us, let us use iCloud sync. No matter how many times you read about users like me that want to go back to iCloud sync, The developer just keeps turning a deaf ear or making up some excuse like “iCloud sync didn’t work for everyone.“ OK, but it worked for some of us. And we’d like it again. If you are considering buying this app and using it, don’t. Your data is not safe. You are using it at your own risk.

I’m very with the app. In use it every day. There were some glitches in the past but they seem to all have been worked out except the frustration of case sensitive hashtags creating two instances for each #Tag #tag

Beware electronic journals. Used this one for nearly 6 years. PURCHASED, spent hours recording and now they no longer support. Offer SUBSCRIPTION replacement for$25 per year. Previous entries will eventually be lost due to lack of support without subscription. I’ve gone back to a written one which is where I should have stayed. Deleted this forever.
  • Give yourself time to organize your thoughts...

Give yourself time to organize your thoughts to get full value from this app. When I first started using this Day One it was just fine... but as I continued to dig in, categorize, create tags, add photos that are geo-tagged... it has become essential. I have some medical memory issues (epilepsy) not sure what I'd do without this app. I know what I was doing, when I was doing it and where I was doing it! Upload pics and it time and location stamps the entry! If you experience memory challenges like I had... set up end of day reminders to journal while you still remember. Then you can also set up ‘on this day’ alerts and get those memories back ❤
  • Great! Except...

I think it’s a really good app for journaling, but why can you not just directly add a video into an entry?
